Coverville 31: A Numb, Hurt and Heartbroken Request Show
The last all-request show of the year. Here's what you'll hear (links included where available):
Uncovered gem of the week: "Caramel" - Suzanne Vega
"Only Love Can Break Your Heart" - Juliana Hatfield (originally by Neil Young)
"Comfortably Numb" - Scissor Sisters (originally by Pink Floyd)
"Driver 8" - Hootie and the Blowfish (originally by R.E.M.)
"Hurt" - Johnny Cash (originally by Nine Inch Nails)
"Don't Fear the Reaper" - H.I.M. (originally Blue Oyster Cult)
Thanks for listening! And thanks for your patience during my bandwidth woes. Relief is coming soon! Perhaps we need a tribute song by a group called "Bandwidth Aid".
Posted by bibbott at December 20, 2004 8:28 AMHey,
I didnt see a contact link, so hopefully you read this. I just started a podcast one celtic music and put a tribute to u on the first show, a version of a celtic band (the paperboys) doing All Along the Watchtower. Its the last song on the show, the feed is podcast.celticmusicnews.com/rss.xml
Cheers,
Aaron
Just a thought:
If you can't score the "Countdown" number sounds, how about just soliciting short interstitials from The Loyal Listening Community? Put something like a 3-second resxtriction on it and let people send in a number.
Posted by: FLEB at December 21, 2004 7:52 AMThanks for playing "Hurt". Nice to know some one can request something obscure and it actually gets played. Phooey on broadcast radio!
Posted by: Randall at December 21, 2004 4:59 PMYeah, I think that Scissor Sisters cover sucks ass. I mean, let disco lie in its grave, please.
Posted by: Darren at December 21, 2004 6:53 PMThis is the first time I have tuned in. So far, I have really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work!
