Continuing the My Favorite Cover Countdown 2004. Here's what you'll hear tonight:

"I Can't Forget" - The Pixies (originally Leonard Cohen)
"Baltimore" - Nina Simone (originally Randy Newman)
"I'm Not In Love" - Richie Havens (originally 10CC)
"September Gurls" - The Bangles (originally Big Star)
"Bitch" - The Goo Goo Dolls (originally The Rolling Stones)
"Sympathy For The Devil/Livin' For The City" - Opie Gone Bad (originally The Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder)

Thanks again to John Ong for sending in the great a capella intros. If you'd like to intro a track, post a comment on the weblog or email me, and I'll give you a number to intro!

And here's a link to the Coverville Countdown iMix in Apple iTunes icon.

So where'd you find that Richie Havens track? I'd about given up on ever hearing it again as my turntable long ago left this mortal coil.

I'd remembered it a tad less plodding, and the instrumentation sure fixes it in a certain time, but Richie's voice makes it all worthwhile. Thanks Brian for digging that up, wherever you found it.
