Also, I keep forgetting to mention--check out two great podcasts that were nice enough to have me on as a guest for an interview:
The Clint And Doug Show- These guys are great. Low tech, but high cool. (www.clintanddoug.info)
The Keener 13 Podcast-This show takes me back to the 1970's, when I spent my days listening to AM radio. Keener 13 is a podcast dedicated to (now long gone) WKNR Radio out of Detroit. If you listened to AM radio at all in the 1970s, WKNR will bring back a transistor-load of memories. (www.keener13.com)

Coverville 40.5: The Director's Cut of the Lascivious Biddies' Interview

Coverville is sponsored by iPodderX. Feed your iPod by getting your copy of the #1 podcasting macintosh client today at iPodderX.com!

Because the Lascivious Biddies deserve to be better heard in full rich stereo sound...

I proudly present the Director's Cut of the Lascivious Biddies Interview. Much better sound, "behind the music"-style introductions to each of their songs, and a little goodbye bit at the end. This is the way the interview was meant to be heard.

And you'll still get an All Request Sunday Show later tonight...

Coverville 40: The Lascivious Biddies' Interview and Covers

Coverville is sponsored by iPodderX. Feed your iPod by getting your copy of the #1 podcasting macintosh client today at iPodderX.com!

Thanks again to the wonderful Amanda, Deidre, Lee Ann and Saskia of the Lascivious Biddies, who honored me with my first interview. Thanks also to Ben, for helping set the whole thing up, and putting up with technical issues and crazy schedules.

Interspersed with the interview, you'll hear the following tracks (all, of course, by the Biddies):

"You Don't Own Me", from the 2004 album "Get Lucky" (most famously by Lesley Gore)
"Head Over Heels" from the 2002 album "Biddy-luxe!" (originally by The Go-Go's)
"It's Only A Paper Moon" from the 2002 album "Biddi-luxe!" (performed by many, composed by Harold Arlen, E.Y. "Yip" Harburg and Billy Rose)

Question I wish I would have asked: "What exactly is a 'Happy Apple'?"

Where have I been?

This has been a pretty crummy week for putting out a show. First, my cold earlier this week, and then wednesday my laptop crashes, and won't boot up. Can't do a FSCK fix, can't Archive and Install, nothing. Fortunately, I was able to install OS X on a FireWire drive, boot from that, and transfer over everything but the application and data file that caused this mess: Virtual PC 6. Even on a Mac, Windows can find a way to get me (I haven't had much luck with Windows, but I consider myself a dual-user work-wise, and a Mac guy the rest of the time). The good news is that I was able to save my iTunes library and my Lascivious Biddies interview, neither of which were backed up because because of size and newness, respectively. for now, I'm running off of my external drive, and will edit the Biddies' interview tonight, and mix it with some of their excellent covers. I hope to post the show late tonight. And back on schedule starting Sunday.

Coverville 39: Four Degrees of Coveration (and more)

Coverville is sponsored by iPodderX. Feed your iPod by getting your copy of the #1 podcasting macintosh client today at iPodderX.com!

By the way, you'll notice tonight that I'm compacting the date in the mp3 file name. This comes from a lot of complaints that the date doesn't show up on the display of the iPod. Let me know what you think.

Thanks again to Bruce at NotLame Records. Make sure to let them know you heard it on Coverville if you order something from their site (like the excellent Cars tribute "Substitution Mass Confusion").

Here's what you'll hear on tonight's show:

"You Might Think" - Bleu (originally by The Cars)
"Come On Eileen" - Badly Drawn Boy with Jools Holland (originally Dexy's Midnight Runners)
"Watch Your Step" - Brenda Kahn (originally Elvis Costello)
"It's Not Unusual" - Belly (originally Tom Jones)
"Gimme Shelter" - Tom Jones with New Model Army (originally The Rolling Stones)
"Under The Boardwalk" - The Rolling Stones (originally The Drifters)

Well, at least I know why I was feeling wiped out...

Looks like I've caught my wife's cold. Ugh. Congested and tired. Getting rest today, and hope to be back on track for the Tuesday night show tomorrow night. And I'll have a bunch of great requests for next week's All Request show.

For those of you looking forward to a show tonight, I'm sorry!

Sorry - Out of it tonight

After a wonderful interview with the Lascivious Biddies, and some after-interview microphone troubleshooting (iChat seems to temporarily negatively affect my Audio Hijack Pro recording), I'm too out of it tonight to record a show. All-Request Sunday will happen tomorrow (Monday) night, and we'll get back on track on Tuesday with a track from the brand-spanking-new Cars cover album (Awesome!). And on Thursday, I'll present the Biddies' interview show. Good night, and thanks for your continued listening and support...

Quick Note

Thanks to the folks at BlueHost (can't stop raving about them), my bandwidth issues are resolved. My audio files are being hosted on another site, so if you have bookmarks to Coverville mp3s, you'll need to go to the specific entry in the Podcast Category to re-point to the file.

HELP! Boston-based listeners and really smart web people...

Hey Coverville listeners! I've got a couple things I need help with, if there's anyone out there that can assist:

First off, if there are any Boston-based listeners out there who can send me a copy of the Boston Phoenix article, I'll PayPal you your time and shipping if you don't mind mailing it out to me. Email me at brian at coverville dot com, and I'll send you my address to send it.

Secondly, and most importantly, my feed is having some trouble adjusting to the new server. Does anyone know anything about a file server that isn't letting MTEnclosures get the file sizes of my mp3s?

If you have any ideas, or further questions, email me at the address above...

Thanks!
