Hmm,... my comment seemed to disapear.
I wanted to point out that the Leaves version of "hey joe" predates Jimi Hendrix'. Neither wrote it, but the Leaves did it first, about a year earlier I believe.

The writing credit went to Chester Powers, a pen name for Dino Valenti of Quicksilver Messenger Service. (He used the same credit for the Youngblood's "Get Together.") But the real writer was a west coast folkie named Billy Roberts. Hendrix used a copy of the slowed down version recorded by Tim Rose a year after the Leave's accelerated version.
