I see you already corrected it on the website at least...on this week's show, you say that "Some Enchanted Evening" is from "West Side Story" (not "South Pacific").

Posted by: Stacey Anderson at June 5, 2005 8:54 PMYou may also want to correct the "Summertime" entry. Cheap Thrills is the album; the song comes from the Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess." Another fine version is the Motown take on that classic by Billy Stewart.
Posted by: 3-Pin at June 6, 2005 5:21 AMLove the Broadway covers. If you do a show of movie musicals, I'd enjoy hearing something from the album "Punk Side Story", which is the entire movie cast album of "West Side Story" performed by the punk band Schlong. It's on iTMS if you want to hear samples.
Posted by: Michael Weinmayr at June 6, 2005 10:20 AMHey Brian. Technically, You're the One That I Want wasn't in the Broadway production of Grease, only in the movie. Instead, the big closing number is "All Choked Up." Bending the rules a little maybe, but still, it was a good cover.
Posted by: Aaron Pratt at June 6, 2005 3:50 PMYou mentioned in the broadcast that you weren't sure whether or not the Rocky Horror Picture Show was on Broadway. It wasn't, but the Rocky Horror Show (note, no 'Picture') was in New York twice: once at the
Belasco Theatre, (3/10/1975 - 4/5/1975) , and once at the Circle in the Square Theatre, (11/15/2000 - 1/6/2002) (with Joan Jett as Columbia!). I'm not sure if these theaters involved are considered Broadway, Off-Broadway, or other.
Aww, Brian, you can't give me Janis Joplin in the middle of my workday -- it makes me want to sing along! I thoroughly enjoyed the show, as usual. Thanks for digging up all this great music.
