Very nice work here Brian. It would have been good enough just to put the songs out there, but the use of fading to try to recreate the flow of the original album is outstanding. Nice work! Much appreciated!

Hey, Brian. I won't even tell you how far behind I am with listening. However, I was showing a friend the wonderful world of podcasts, and, of course, chose Coverville as the "demo".

So, iTunes dutifully downloaded the Cover Side of the Moon, and we started listening. Then the bluegrass cover came on, and we tried to figure out who it was.

And this is the point of the comment: For some reason, all the data just runs together in the "Info" screen on iTunes. Other sites seem to have formatted text, but it doesn't happen on Coverville.

Just a head's up: maybe you can make a great site just that little bit better.

Thanks for all your work, Brian. I know cranking this stuff out week after week is not easy. Well done!

One of your more creative Covervilles. Loved it. Great concept to do whole albums (in order). Could there be more out there to come?

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles
Led Zeppelin IV, Led Zeppelin
Back in Black, AC/DC
Tommy, The Who
Purple Rain, Prince
What's Going On, Marvin Gaye
etc...

This is the first episode of any podcast that I think I will burn to CD in its entirety. Fantastic job!

Because they're considered to be a "dinosaur rock band that did overblown concept albums," it's often easy to forget how solid those songs are. Melissa Quade's version of Time helped to remind me. Thanks.

I loved this one also... You gained another blog reference from me. :)

I've got the Easy Star All-Stars' "Dub Side of the Moon" CD, and let me tell you... IT IS AWESOME!!!

Thanks for another great show, Brian EyeBott. Tee hee

Can you play this Pink Floyd mix while watching the Wizard of Oz?

Posted by: Kevin at March 18, 2006 3:43 PM

Sorry, got cut off above...

Maybe you can play this mix while watching a remake of the Wizard of Oz...such as The Wiz.

Very nice work, this, although I was rather sad to see that none of the Phish live cover of the entire DSOTM made it in.

I just discovered Coverville. I do believe I'll be backtracking through the archives.

Thanks for finally playing this one, Brian! I would have put The Squirrels in for "The Great Gig in the Sky", and used the Easy Star All-Stars for Money (to take advantage of the toking and coughing sound effects replacing the cash registers), but the a cappella "Any Colour You Like" was a pleasant surprise.

Well done, as always!

Yeah, the Squirrels "Great Gig..." is terrific, and their "Us And Them" is David Bowie-esque and also excellent. I didn't have a lot of options for "On The Run", but the All-Stars do a great job with it.

Hi there, I've recently discovered this podcast and I think is the best stuff in the web, really enjoy it.

Do you by chance could get your jands on the cover by Brian Wilson of "Brian Wilson" from the canadian band "Barenaked Ladies". I'd really love to hear it, though I'm not sure when or where he's played it. It was during a live performance somewhere, and the fact that he played that song proves his great sense of humor, since that song originally by the BNL it's a parody of him and his "period of insanity".

Again, congratulations on your great show, and keep up the great work

yeah, sorry for commenting out of place, and for that typo with "jands", but everything else is true, and BTW, that Pink Floyd special was great as usual.

Absolutely tight...Brian, had you heard of the Out of Phase version? I picked it up outta the bargain bin somewhere, and it's also the entire album covered (electronica style). It pretty much kicks a lot of boot-tay! Can't wait to listen to this Brian.
AR (Not the comic book one; a cooler Alex Ross cover version)

That Brian Wilson cover is on his "Live at the Roxy Theatre"-2CD. It's just a mere 55 seconds long, however.

Nice work, Brian, and well timed to commemorate the original album's release date. A propos of nothing, then, I'd like to point out that August 5th 2006 will be the 40th anniversary of the release of the Beatles' Revolver. I'm just sayin'.
