Awesome - I love Queen, so this show was a lot of fun. The Barry Williams song was horrible, but in a funny way, so can't complain.
Posted by: John at April 20, 2006 8:09 AMReally good show. Queen was one of the first bands I listened to as well. Remember the inner sleeve of Jazz? My parents wouldn't let me keep it once they saw what was on it.
"Let Me Entertain You" was one of my favorite songs on that album, I recall.

Great show! Wonderful selections.
Also, thanks for making the show notes links open in a new window.

Posted by: Ken at April 20, 2006 3:47 PMExcellent show! I just pulled out my 'Night At The Opera' and 'Flash Gordon' soundtrack CDs last week so I was definitely in a Queen mood! You hit the spot!
Posted by: Rob at April 21, 2006 1:35 PMGreat show Brian! As always, i learned a lot. didn't realize Electric 6 'premiered' Radio Ga-Ga at Glastonbury. We saw them perform it elsewhere on UK tour... Great opportunity to brandish those souvenir Electric 6 flick-lighters!
Brian:
Great show - anybody who recognizes News of the World as Queen's greatest lp obviously has great taste.
Posted by: Domer at April 23, 2006 5:40 PMGreat show Brian, this really highlighted how much the world misses Freddie, surely one of the greatest talents ever. Hearing these songs was kind of sad in that sense...
It was a shame though that The Flaming Lips could not add their own style/vision - what's so clever about copying in the same style, rythym? I think this breaches Rule number 2 of Coverville, after rule number 1 (Whatever Brian says goes!), so I guess on that logic, there is only one rule!!
You are being VERY restrained over show 200. My god, Len was practically orgasmic by show 98, never mind 198 :-)
Best regards

Posted by: Wayne from the UK at April 24, 2006 2:51 PMI'd forgotten how much I liked Queen back in high school and college. Thanks for a great show, especially the covers of "Save Me" and "Radio Ga Ga"!
Posted by: Clint at April 25, 2006 2:47 PMThis show is really fitting seeing as it comes just after Queen finished up their tour in Vancouver B.C. (awesome show by the way, Rodgers/Taylor/May and others know how to put on a rock show). Keep up the good work :)
