Still not on i-tunes - seems to be taking 2 days now?

Looking forward to this and have played with the Simon Cowell thing - fun! His autobiography is worth a read BTW.

What A GREAT idea. More Podcasts should do this! I look forward to more episodes much like this one :-)

Whee! Some of those were really good! I hope that you will play the winning songs in full when you announce the winners.

Whoops. Can you tell that I sent that comment before I heard the end of the episode?

Finally listened to this. What a great show!

On with voting now...

No disrespect to your missing guest judges, but the Simon Cowell clips were brilliant.

Perhaps Britain's greatest export at the moment?!

Well done again

I enjoyed the show - thanks to everyone who submitted their music. I just voted!

Brian,

Just a correction on Paul Kelly - he's an Australian, not from New Zealand. Leaps & Bounds is about Melbourne, Victoria, one of the southern Australian states

Great episode, and your one step closer to a show I've always wanted to hear, Uke Covers, do you think that could ever happen? :-)

I hate "American Idol"; this was probably one of my least favorite shows. Don't worry, Brian. I'm still a loyal listener (I've heard every episode thus far).

But I respecfully request that you NEVER do this again.

(But I know you will. )

Keep up the other good work. ;-)

Nice correction Kevin

Paul must be the only genuine Aussie then, not one who hides his NZ roots, like Russell Crowe and Keith Urban. Anna from Music I-Quiz also recentky said that Crowded House were Austrlian. Let's not even go near the pavlova! I'm a true Brit BTW but have lived in NZ and I do remember a few rants about the pavlova and under-arm bowling!!

The Aussies are good at claiming Kiwis as their own, but say when Russell Crowe is stuffing about we are quick to point out he is a Kiwi.

I just came to post about the error, but Kevin already had pointed that out.

I'd call Crowe a Kiwi, and Urban an Aussie.

I'll definitely be doing the next Coverville IDOL with a track from 1973. I look forward to the competition. Keep up the great show.

hmmm, Urban an Aussie? :-)

Sorry Brian,

I have to agree with Dave. I have never been put through agony such as listening to this show. I have listened to every episode to date. But you have a real dog here.

The Simon quotes were insulting to everyone who submitted a cover. Your decision to use them should have been reconsidered after the first one. It made the music(?) just heard seem that much worse. The length of the clips themselves added to the pain subjected to the listeners.

Please for the love of your fans reduce the length of clips to 1 minute maximum. Please consider doing the same when you announce the winners with the exception of the winner. Please also consider making the next Coverville Idol your last unless it surpasses a Worst of Covers show.

I'm sorry for strong criticism. I have never left a comment such as this anywhere but felt so strongly that I had to this time. I do love your show but was very disappointed with this one.

I do not watch American Idol or its ilk as I do not find humor in the mocking and humiliation of people. I also do not like amateur attempts at music/performance. I expected more talent to be heard when listening to this show.

I look forward to all your future shows except the next Coverville Idol. If you are pleased with it then perhaps a separate feed is called for as you can create a podcast on just this idea alone. And those of us not interested can just not subscribe to it.

Brian,
Glad to hear an acappella track come up on the show, but I can't seem to find that one anywhere else. I've found more than one group called No Strings Attached, and still...

Looking forward to the next all acappella coverville.
