*Eclectic* :-)

For the next one you could consider the Liz Phair version of "Turning Japanese", the hilarious version of "That's Entertainment" (can't recall the name) or the great lounge style cover of "Anarchy in the UK" (again, can't recall the artist at the moment, but could do if you have not got these).

Nice, I really liked the My Sharona cover.

As a teenager in Florida I bought a cassette from 20/20 called "Sex Trap." Until today I thought that I was the only one in the world who had ever heard of this band because no one that I have ever known has heard of them. I still have the cassette (don't know if it has decayed by now) and have contemplated buying a cassette->usb recording device to transfer tapes like this to digital.

Thanks again for another outstanding podcast.

Hi Brian-
What a fantastic show - I had no idea the Japanese were so far ahead of America in pop music too.
Just wonderful.... As the podcast played, I kept thinking, "this is even better than the previous track", and then the finale of "Three Cool Chicks"...
Psychedelica mashed up with Power Pop and a little Nintendo game music tossed in.... and is that a little Lounge too? Wow.
I think I need to hear more, but I feel kind of like I just came out from under a rock - I know nothing about the genre - what do you call it? Japanese Rock? Is there a blog or something that tracks this stuff?

Wow, that was a totally seamless edit of Andy Sturmer's name! That totally didn't jump right out at me at all!
