Thank you Brian – Wonderful – worth the wait!
No “Bitterest Pill (I ever had to swallow)” on that compilation though? That was a big hit here – got to number 2.
The best Weller album by a country mile is “Stanley Road” IMO. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Wonderful on vinyl too!
Thanks for doing a whole show dedicated to the Modfather.
Love it.
Oh my gosh Brian! You found The Wonder Stuff! I loved them!! What great memories you always seem to conjure up! Thank you!
FABULOUS to hear this Paul WEller cover story!! I don’t know why he’s so underrated here in the US.
Under The Covers, with Emm Griner and Danny Michel, was, unfortunately, a one of holiday (Victoria Day) special. Managed to catch the last half of the show. Great.

GREAT show. I’d forgotten about that wonderful Morrissey version of “Entertainment.” Hope I still have that one.
Thanks for the heads up about the greatest hits. I’ll have to check out the track list. I still don’t have The Gift on CD. I know, bad boy. I will have to check out Stanley Road after reading Wayne’s comment. I stopped buying the solo stuff after #3 (WildWood?).
Sorry, but I can’t think of any other Paul Weller songs I’d like to hear covered…

The Bitterest Pill (I Never Had to Swallow)
I love you Brian, only you could butcher Ted Leo + The Pharmacists name and album so bad and still make it sound completely professional. Keep on rockin’!
Brian – Wanted to let you know this show solved an ongoing mystery in my musical life.
When I was much much younger I saw a live performance on TV of a song with the strongest hook – very similar to The Beatles’ Taxman but for some reason better. I went away from the experience recalling it was Elvis Costello for some reason, and I’ve been trying to find out the name of the song ever since by searching his catalog.
When I heard the opening song of this episode (Start!), I realized right away I had the wrong skinny British legend 🙂 Thanks a LOT, I now can be at peace with this.
