Power pop-tastic!
Thanks for playing Doug Powell for me. You know, this whole show could qualify as an alternative soundtrack to a John Hughes movie or Cameron Crowe’s “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”!!
It’s like you read my mind! I’ve been dying for a Cars cover story.
Jade Hanson of Dum Dog Run is a pretty cool guy. Years ago my old band opened a show for his old band (Believable Picnic) in Franklin, TN. His brother Joel is in one of my all-time favorite Christian bands, PFR.
(Another) excellent Cover story, Brian!
Question: Whatever happened to that Cars cover band that was supposed to have some original members of the Cars with Todd Rundgren as lead singer?
I randomly downloaded that Red House Painters version of “All Mixed Up” many years ago and loved it immediately. It always had a ‘hauntingly familiar’ feel to me, but until I heard this Cover Story, did not realize it was a cover. I’m sure I heard the original back in the day as my best friend growing up was a big Cars fan.
Man, I love Coverville.
