Brian, Tobago is pronounced tuh-bay-go.
I am originally from T & T as well. The citizens of the country of Trinidad & Tobago never refer to it that way, instead just saying which island they are from. Even though it is one country, the two islands cultural make-up could not be any more different. I had the good fortune to live for several years on each island and thus experienced both worlds. Trinidad is very industrial (major oil producer) with an amazing mix of cultures (indian, Chinese, etc), whereas Tobago is much more laid back with a stronger African ties. Best thing about the country – the food, and the women.
