Thanks for that great cover of The River. That is one of my all-time favorite Boss songs…along with Thunder Road, 10th Avenue Freeze Out, Adam Raised A Cain, the whole album of Nebraska….
Seriously, that was a great cover and it put me in an even better mood than I was. So thanks alot!
That last couple of songs on Musically Challenged — OMD's Souvenir and Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit were great — but the guy mumbled the artist names. Anybody hear who they were?
The "The River" cover is from four norwegian artist, popualary called "De nye Gitarkameratene" (The new Guitar Buddies) in the news-media, and Espen Lind is one of them. The other members are Kurt Nilsen (Vinner of Norvegian Idol 2003 and World Idol), Alejandro Fuentes (Third place norwegian Idol 2005) and Askil Holm(had a song on the Cody Banks soundtrack).
The Smells Like Teen Spirit was done by a band called Goya. I found a link to a streaming version.

The OMD cover, I believe was done by a singer named Ania, but in my brief search, I couldn't find a link to any versions to be sure.
My Friend the Chocolate Cake played the Speigeltent in Brisbane last night. No covers unfortunately but a great show by this unique band. I hear they are at the Edinburgh festival this year so don't miss them if you are within range.
David Bridie, the main songwriter and singer in the band has a cover of Another Girl Another Planet on is website that is worth a listen.

Polyphonic Spree are in town tomorrow so Brisbane is eclectic music capital of the universe this week.
Blotto!! have not heard them in a LONG time, saw them a few times in the late 70's in the Albany, NY area
LOVE Blotto. FYI, that song first appeared on a compilation LP called Hudson Rock, circa 1982, which I have somewhere in my attic…
"Lightning Striking Again" was a big hit for Lou Christy not Frankie Valli (the falsetto must have fooled you).
oops…Christie..sorry Lou
