Love these shows! – I think Spider were really unlucky not to have a big hit but I hope they got a good piece of some royalties as the co-writers. Tina and her people had the good sense not to change a thing – it was perfect already!
On the last CBC Under the Covers 54-40 talked about the impact of the Hootie cover on them. In addition to the royalty checks they also opened for Hootie. At one show they decided to play I Go Blind and Hootie's manager freaked out. Still not happy even after it was explained that 54-40 had written the song.
Wow this was a cool cool show. This is what I love, when I can learn about an artist I didn't know anything about like Paul Pena. I will have to look into him now.
And you played Nina Simone…I discovered her music from the film La Femme Nikita. One of my favorite covers of this particular song is Elvis Costello's version. Top notch show.
this podcast is occasionally just a beautiful revelation. thanks dude! nina simone wow!
Brian, thanks for doing what you do! Whenever you feel down, just know that you make people happy every show!
Feel better. We are all sending you back the energy you send us. If you ever feel down, just close your eyes and realize that you have made many people happy!
That completely made my day. Thank you.
