Nina Simone – great choice! Stan Ridgway – I have one of his albums; need to pull it out. Think this is one of my favorite episodes. the fact that you sequenced it thematically was very important.. BRAVO.
(PS – Obviously, I can get here from my Firefox at home; will check my IE at work tomorrow.)
Hey….Martin Gore's got a Counterfeit 2??? I freaked when I saw yet another Gore "Counterfeit" song on your list that was a cover. I've had that album for years and never knew. Then I was really confused when the song wasn't on my version of Counterfeit. Looking in the iTunes store, I realized there is a Counterfeit 2, and that's the album that "Lost in the Stars" is on.
yes, "counterfeit 2" (2003, 11 covers) is martin gore's 2nd solo album full of cover versions. it is no reissue or rerelease of "counterfeit" (1989, ep with six covers) and not to be mixed up with that. both are definitely worth checking out !
