Brian: Something is a bit fubar with the formatting of the links for the songs. Extra long and extending into adjacent songs.
Hmmm. Fixed when I returned from posting the comment.
Joel Whitburn's Billboard Albums book ranks the artists by chart performance from 1956-2005. CSNY was 179. The Byrds 236, Hollies 410, Buffalo Springfield didn't make top 500. Steve Stills was 308, Crosby & Nash didn't rank, but Neil Young was 26.
LOVED the Timothy B. Schmidt version of Carry On. I'm going to have to look at picking up that track or, possibly the whole album.
That particular album also has a good version of the Isley Brothers "Time" done by Cheryl Crow and Steve Earl.
Joel- Time Has Come Today was by the Chambers Brothers, but yes, the 30 seconds of the Steve Earle/Sheryl Crow version on Amazon is tantillizing. http://www.amazon.com/Steal-This-Movie-2000-Film/…
Would Derek & The Domino's be a supergroup? Well, the Layla album at least.
Power Station too, being members of Duran Duran and Robert Palmer.
