As was recommended by many commenters from the last show (are you really just asking me to shut up?), I’m going to take a couple days off from the show and get my voice back to normal. However, I’m talking to a couple people who might “guest host” Coverville in the meantime. The Joan Rivers to my Johnny Carson. The Sarah Chalke to my Alicia Goranson… (there’s a reference for you…)
In the meantime, I’m slipping off the top ten list over at PodcastAlley. Now, I’ve stopped littering my podcasts with requests to vote for me over there, but that shouldn’t stop me from making a quick plea in writing. If you would be so kind to cast a vote for my show, I’d appreciate it!
New show coming soon…
Brian, I don’t think it’s right that you’ve been shamed into not asking for votes. There’s nothing unbecoming about it. This is a fledgling industry and you do what you have to do to get visibility. Voting electronically, especially in a way that is not a one-time deal, is not a natural, or even conventional, activity for most of your listeners, so you have every right to remind listeners to vote. None of your real fans are going to mind your reminding them. For god’s sake, you’re not Buying votes (are you?).

OK OK – now I feel guilty. I only meant the comment as a joke after that one show where Brian asked us to vote for about half of the first 5 minutes of the show! It’s your show Brian, say what you like. I’ll keep listening and keep voting. I’ve not done it today but I’m about to. I’m happy to recommend everyone to get to Podcast Alley and vote for Coverville. You might find some other podcasts you’ll enjoy but none better than this one – except maybe Dawn & Drew… and that Skinny on Sports one is pretty good and then there’s the Source Code of course and …. 😉
So your voice get better – yes!
Write the notes down, mail some of us and we will record your texts. 🙂
There is nothing wrong with asking people to vote for you.
