Cookie, cookie, cookie starts with “C” – and so does “Coverville”! And you know what? It matters whether that’s a capital C or a lowercase C.

Podtrac made some changes to their code over the weekend, and their redirects – which usually provide statistics for advertiser management – started to convert the URL for every show into lowercase. So a URL like this:

http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3/backbeat.cachefly.net/coverville/audio/Coverville-120503.mp3

(note the capital C near the end)

Gets converted to something like this:

http://backbeat.cachefly.net/coverville/audio/coverville-120503.mp3

(note the LACK of capital C near the end)

I’ve gotten a hold of them, and now they’re aware of the issue and are in the process of fixing it. In the meantime, just change the lowercase C in the mp3 file’s name to a capital C, and it’ll all be Cool.

See what I did there?
