Another one where Too Much Joy would fit… with either “That’s A Lie” (LL Cool J) or “Fuck Shop” (2 Live Crew). The former is of course the better song, while the latter was covered as a protest against censorship.
Damn man, you may be the whitest man alive if that rap version of the intro was anything to go by, hehe. Seriously though, that was so hell of cool Samuel L Jackson covets.
Alternative, pop, lounge, bluegrass. All good stuff. What’s missing? hmmmm…Metal! One of my favorites is “Tribute,” by Nonpoint, which does 3 for the price of 1: Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story,” Busta Rhyme’s “Woo Hah!,” and Wu-Tang Clan’s “M.E.T.H.O.D. Man.” Another great high-energy one is System of a Down’s version of Wu-Tang’s “Shame on a Nigga.”

Love the Brass Monkey samples in your intro! In fact, the “theme nights” are always my favorites of your shows. Rap is not my genre… so why is it that I had 3 of the covers from this show already on my iPod? That’s the most duplication of any show so far. Hmmm….
Anyway, have you considered implementing the iTunes chapters for your podcast? It would be nice, when I’m already quite familiar with a cover, to be able to skip to the next song without having to do the iPod “scrub”.
I agree with the first poster, Ben Folds’ Bitches Ain’t Shit would have fit so well in this episode. I recently heard him perform it live, it was so awesome.
