I know he’s The King and all but to be fair, this is really covers of songs that Elvis covered – Elvis didn’t write any of these tunes. He might have been the first to perform Jailhouse Rock, but that would be it out of this list.
Who wrote Elvis’s famous tunes?

No Cheap Trick’s version of Don’t Be Cruel?
Really hate that PSB version 🙁 I think it a poor cover and also it stop the best christmas song being No1 in the UK, namely the Pogues Fairytale of New York.
Apart from that another great show.
Brian, I think you walk on water, but that was THE worst impression of Elvis that I have ever heard. On the flipside, the show was rockin’ as usual.
Agreed, don’t start an Elvis impersonation podcast. Otherwise great show, and thanks for the end. I was worried we weren’t going to get to hear Eliert Pilarm on this show.
OMG :O A Swedish Elvis?? I know I’ll never get those minutes back… 😉
One of these days I’ll learn…
If Brian puts music after the closing credits, “Just Say No!!!!”
Fun to hear The King included! Also on that first album is a nice, straight cover of Tim Buckley’s Song to the Siren.. (if an Elvis impersonation can ever be said to be a straight reading!) Song to the Siren was also beautifully covered by This Mortal Coil.. check it out!
Yo Zim :
Dead right about that Tim Buckley song m8.
In the FYC song, is that Jimmy Sommerville singing backup? It sure sounds like him.
Come on! We love Eliert Pilarm (because he is so bad). I knew Brian couldn’t get through an Elvis tribute show withoug playing 1 track by Eliert Pilarm. Brian has played at least 1 other track by him…it’s just as bad.
Tim
LOL! Yeah, it probably is required for an Elvis show. And hey, he’s better than Wing! 🙂
