The version of “Teenage Dirtbag” by the Scala Choir & Kolacny Brothers was AWESOME, Brian! Thanks for including it!!! Funny to hear from a choir, “Her boyfriend’s a ****”! LOL.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for playing Travis I still remember the first time I heard this version – I almost crashed my car laughing so much at the backing vocals by two radio 1 presenters!
Toy Matinee reminds me alot of Steely Dan..
neat song!

Brian, I came across your show weeks ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. The cover of “Teenage Dirtbag” reminded me of the Langley Schools Music Project that incorrect music used to play.
Fabulous show! Happy Valentine’s Day to you & the Mrs 🙂
Awesome episode. I haven’t heard Jenny Ledge in years. I had only had it on cassette. It’s one of those songs that freaks you out when someone else mentions it because you think it’s your little treasure.
I came close to recommending the Travis song after the Groundhog Day episode, but after the Chris Isaak-Solitary Man thing, I thought I would come across like a dick.
No Alternative was another one of those that I never re-bought on CD. It also had that Bob Mould song that had the same chords as Husker Du’s Too Far Down, and was every bit as depressing.
Thanks again for a great show!
very nice episode. I almost thought this was your Valentine’s day episode 😉 With awesome references to boyfriends in Teenage Dirtbag (great cover), a little Sexual Healing (time to bust out No Alternative again), more Baby, and some Long Love.
I’m looking to the actual V-Day Episode. Awesome show. It’s great that you get the whole family involved.
Keep the covers up.
Nice selection of songs. I agree that that Toy Matinee song reminded me of Steely Dan. I think I heard a cover snippet of another song in there, too.
As far as the Musically Challenged bit, I only got the first clip right, too.
Yeah – Jenny Ledge actually does include some cover “snippets”. Kevin sings a few Elvis Presley lyrics as he closes out the song. (much like Sting did with Police lyrics at the ends of some of his own songs…)
LOVED the Wheatus cover. Have posted a recommendation for your show on our blog, http://spacebats.blogspot.com/. Keep up the fantastic work.
