Brian,
Thanks for reading out my comment. It looks like people are still voting!
Great show. The Aztec Camera cover is one of my favourite ‘ totally different (and better) than the original’ covers. I grew up in the same town as Roddy Frame. He was – and still is! – a couple of years younger than me. I was a huge fan and saw them play 4 or 5 times in the early 80’s including one of my all time favourite concerts at the Glasgow Barrowlands. Great memories – thanks again!
I’m an Atlanta resident and even I haven’t been able to find a copy of the The Brains “Money Changes Everything”. All I have is a vinyl EP done near the end of the bands life.
Drat! FYI: The version of Aztec Camera’s “Jump” you played was the SHORT VERSION, not the long version I am used to hearing. It was on a 10″ record, circa 1985, I think called BACK AND FORTH. If you listen to that one, it paints an entirely different picture. It starts off in the light/mellow mood, as you played, but after the fade out you heard, the music gets a lot louder, distorted and INTENSE! Perhaps anticipating the loud/soft dynamic pioneered by Nirvana et al. Not sure if that long version is on C.D. at all, so you should try and dig up that 10 inch vinyl if you can, it’s really a nice version.
I’ve got a copy of the Aztec Camera 12″

I thought the cover of “Dear God” by Tricky was FANTASTIC. But so was “Jump”! Any idea where I can find this supposed “long cut” that Scott mentioned?
