Love Buffalo Gals!
xo,
Meredith, new listener 🙂
For a folkier look at Pete Seeger, Joshua at Cover Lay Down re-covered him this week.

BTW. Reuben James was originally recorded by the Almanac Singers which included both Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. The tune was taken from the Carter Family's Wildwood Flowers. Guthrie was always writing; lyrics, poems, prose … and frequently re-purposed an existing melody to go with the lyric. It was effective agit-prop, use a familiar tune to go with a new, e.g. union song lyric.

Way cool. A whole Seeger show! More than I dared request. I'm a big Pete fan: http://rogerowengreen.blogspot.com/2009/05/pete-s…
Ok Brian, that isnt the version of The Water is Wide that is on my copy of Rarities, B-Sides, and Slow, Sad Waltzes. Where did you get it?
That Andy Sturmer track was great! Really must check his solo efforts out…
That Buffalo Gals cover was awesome, and that's saying a lot coming from me because I loathe Bruce Springsteen. Great show!
