Thanks for this, long time fan of Nick Drake. Setting up an originals playlist before I re-listen to this episode and rate the songs.
FYI: The Denison Witmer story is the first episode in his stories podcast.

The "Poor Boy – Songs of Nick Drake" tribute album is a good source of jazzy covers of Nick's work. Definitely different to the essentially folk originals.
Not sure if you've played this or not at some point, but Kelly Willis does a lovely cover of "Time Has Told Me", the song which starts off the "Five Leaves Left" album. It's a bit in the same vein as the Lucinda Williams cover you included for this episode.
Really enjoyed this, Brian. A podcast longer than any of Nick's albums – sublime!
Incidentally, if you're a real fan and want to find out more, can I recommend the wonderful biography Deeper Than The Darkest Sea by Trevor Dann.
'Which Will' is now one of my favorite songs. I can't believe I had not heard it before, and cannot imagine it sung any more beautifully than how Lucinda Williams sings it. Simply awesome.
