For the Cover Story tonight, we’ll take a look at a prolific songwriter that, with his partner Mort Shuman, wrote some of the most popular songs for groups like The Coasters and The Drifters, as well as Elvis Presley and Dion and the Belmonts. Coverville proudly presents the Doc Pomus Cover Story.

I 1st heard that v. of Lonely Ave on the Rain Man soundtrack. LOVE that song, and indeed the whole 1st half of the CD. Put it on a mixed CD in a CD exchange; the listeners, almost to a person, HATED it. Broke my heart.
I have that great Till The Night Is Gone.collection. Lou Reed's This Magic Moment is on there.
I never heard the original v. of I Count The Tears; 1st heard the Rosanne Cash v. on Till The Night Is Gone. I'm always distracted by the fact that it reminds me of that Grass Roots song Let's Live For Today.
I actually own "The Return of Bruno" on vinyl. 🙂 'Younblood' is one of the better tracks. Occasionally it dips into ultra-80s territory, but most of it is a lot of fun. Bruce is actually quite a harmonica player!
Working my way though all the old Covervilles, downloading them to my imac as I don’t have an ipod. Got up to #646. The server is down? Any suggestions for me?
