I emailed this you – hope you can make use of it.
Back in 1993 or so [my records show 1992, it seems] Syd Straw (of the Golden Palominos, etc.) did a Singles Only Label 45 with a medley of the Pretenders “2000 Miles / I Go to Sleep.” It was vinyl-only, and has never been released on CD or MP3 to my knowledge. I ripped it from the 45 to M4a – it’s superb and I submit it for your use.
Great show and love being in on it. Thanks!
Also, Michael–thanks for the info on Syd…..i’m curious and i’ll probably see her soon. the Palominos are playing NY tomorrow (9/10).
FYI – Martin Chambers, the only other living, original member of The Pretenders, had a birthday on September 4 (also b. 1951). Even MORE of a reason to celebrate!
I remember reading that Chryssie HATES Brass in Pocket, hates her vocal. Here’s the video w/ other 1980s female singers: http://hubpages.com/hub/Top-5-Videos-Greatest-80s-Females-Acting-Badly
Fantastic stuff. Here’s a challenge for you – can you play every track off that Radio 1 set before Coverville 800? It’s a great set though!
Love that “Don’t get me wrong” cover! I love Lily Allen!
