These songs have nothing in common, except that they’re all jammed into this show together. And that they’re all excellent!

Brian – Never saw O Brother, but do have the soundtrack and played it A LOT. I’m guessing the song you were referring to in the baptism scene was Didn’t Leave Nobody but the Baby. The vocalists were Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch and Emmylou Harris. No Diana Krall on that album at all.
It’s a long time since I’ve seen it – but “Didn’t Leave Nobody but the Baby” was the Sirens’ song. (I think).
The baptism scene had the song Down to the River to Pray, sung by Alison Krauss.
So I’m guessing Brian’s confusing Krauss with Krall… same first 3 letters, easy mistake to make 😉
Yep, that’s exactly what I was thinking – “Didn’t Leave Nobody but the Baby”, and Roger, you’re exactly right: Krauss, Welch and Harris. Absolutely haunting and beautiful.
Wow. 737 was one of the best episodes ever. I’ve been listening since the early 200’s and this one just blew my mind! There have been others but 737 just kept on giving. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.
I clicked on the iTunes link to buy the Waves on Waves song, but iTMS doesn’t seem to have the song. Can I get it anywhere else?
Crossing from Film Shack, your comedic talent made me want to check out what else you have in the bag. Exelent music, maybe I’ll stick around 😀
