Tacoma, Wash., paper regrets wishing the deceased Etta James a happy birthday:
“An item on Page A2 in Wednesday’s paper incorrectly stated that it was singer Etta James’ 74th birthday. James died last week.”

Rest In Peace, Etta. Unless you feel like raising a ruckus. In that case, give it all you got!
I appreciate your playing Etta’s version of “Take It to the Limit.” But the live version is better. You can hear it for free at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAH97-TDFzk.
I never realized how many of her songs were in my own personal Greatest Hits! Peace be with you Etta James!
I’ve listened to this episode several times. It’s so great!
Thank you for a great tribute show. I’m a serial skipper (sorry!) of tracks that I don’t know or by artists I don’t care for. I was riveted by this episode and listened to everything even though I wasn’t familiar with a lot of Emma James work. The last time you had that effect on me was the Robert Johnson cover story.
As ever, thank you Brian, keep up the great work!
