Other covers of “Little Wing”:
Stevie Ray Vaughn – stellar, 7 minutes of heaven
Pearl Jam – has covered it live
Sting – Pretty mediocre
The Corrs – I believe you can hear Jimi spinning in his grave in the background
I was downloading free music off of Amazon and found this – a cover of “My Heart Will Go On”, by a band called the Switchblade Kittens.
Also, wanted to request Vanessa Carlton’s cover of Paint it Black from her Be Not Nobody cd. I heard this playing in the store and it convinced me to buy the cd (something I wouldn’t have done based on the songs that got radio play).
tori amos covered jimi’s “if 6 was 9” a long time ago (a studio recording) and made distorted piano sound like guitar. it’s really good. find it.
Don’t forget Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Voodo Child for the next Hendrix cast. It kicks much ass.
