That Shatner song is AWESOME! It makes up for playing Big Yellow Taxi. After Lilith Fair I never want to hear that song covered again for as long as I live.
Ok, rant off – thanks again for that Shatner jewel.
How about a punk covers show? There are soooo many to choose from. “Fortunate Son” from The Circle Jerks, “I Fought The Law” from The Clash, etc…
Great show….quick question….
What album is the Self version of Dizzy on??? I can’t find it on Allmusic.com and it’s driving me nuts.
Thanks

That self song is on “Self Feels Like Breakin’ Shit”.
Love the Shatner. Did anyone see his “Invasion Iowa” mini-series on the sci-fi channel? Pure comedic genius. Some of the funniest, and touching, tv I have ever seen.
Brian,
I just wanted to thank you for playing the William Shatner cover of Common People. That cover so rocks. My bf and I drove to Memphis this weekend so I loaded up my Ipod with your shows and we listened all the way there and back. I know we played that one song at least 4 times and I’m listening to it again now.
This song REALLY surprised me. The parts of his last album I had heard were chalked up with Billy Bob Thornton’s album as some of the worst things I’d ever heard. But, after hearing this song I went over to Itunes to sample the other songs and overall I’m impressed.
Also, wanted to thank you for linking to the Itunes songs and the amazon albums whenever you can.
