In honor of drummer Stewart Copeland’s 60th, let’s revisit that little-known band from the 80s, and finally give them some exposure. Because, you know, somewhere there’s an alternate universe that didn’t have MTV. (56 minutes)

“Fortress Around Your Heart” is a Sting song, not the Police. Thanks!
“I Burn For You” – Sting, not the Police.
Who are you, the Police police? 🙂
I am the Eggman!
That cover of Roxanne is amazing! Must buy!
Speaking of that, you could link to Google Play music now, too. I only say that because I have $25 to use there 🙂
Yeah, I was going to add that “fortress around your heart” was sting, not the police (which would certainly have displeased Stewart Copeland)… but I have to say I really enjoyed this episode. Longtime Police (and Sting) fan. I lived in Chicago for a while, and there was this music venue right off the Belmont L-Stop. And on their door they had a sign that said “DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF [THIS VENUE]. IF YOU DO, THE POLICE WILL TOW YOU.” to which some wag had appended, after “the Police” “or whoever is playing that night”.
This was one of the best shows yet! Thank you.
great job brian, as usual, thanks for including roxanne by magoni-spinetti. I sent u this song some years ago 🙂
Wow, I need to get caught up after holidays!
They were a great, great band. Not litttle known here in the UK! My brother in law used to have a boxed set of their first 6 Police singles on blue vinyl that I used to covet.
Thinking about your life as a wedding DJ (sorry, can’t help thinking of Adam Sandler when I say this), I wonder how many of them realised about the lyrics. I like to think that some had this “oh Dear” moment at the point when the lyrics refer to vows being broken. Then again, many Americans think “Born In the USA” is all about how great America is!!
This is up there in the top 20 all time Coverville shows – great stuff Brian!
