This was an excellent show among many.
Handouts in the Rain is not Paul Weller covering Richie Havens. It is Richie Havens. This record “Under The Influence” is not a cover album by Weller. It is a “mixtape” of various musicians who have influenced him over the years. That it why, as you stated in the show, Weller sounds so much like Havens. It is Havens!
Well that makes sense. Sheesh. This is what we miss these days when we get JUST the digital version of an album, instead of the whole package with liner notes and such. Let that be a lesson to…well, me.
While I admire the between song set banter, I think your audio archive would benefit from you re-recording two corrective sections to replace your erroneous Paul Weller comments or perhaps insert corrections while not deleting anything you previously said.
