Surprised you didn’t mention the previous, similar episode: the “Originalville” from April 1, 2006 (episode 194, one of my favorite shows). (Sorry if this posts twice.)
Cool concept. GREAT episode. Thanks Brian!
If you DIDN’T have Big Daddy, it would have been a sin, a SIN I tell you!
THANKS FOR THE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE…….LIGHTNIN’ BOB WAYNE OF BIG DADDY. (That’s me singing “Jump” …cut #7 on this list)

I would have requested you play Max Raabe, but I know he & his orchestra have been featured on other episodes.
Raabe was in the playlist before I pared it down to “show size”. But yeah, I’ve played him a bit on the show before, so it was easier to let him go.
Bioshock Infinite had quite a few of these songs. There was cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girl just want to have fun” played on a calliope at resort area in the game.
There is also Shiny Happy People, Tainted Love, God Only Knows and Fortunate Son.
Interestingly, they also play other songs like Wild About That Thing, St. James Infirmary and others which are equally out of time have been recorded and performed long after 1912, which is the time the game takes place in. But I guess these sound old enough that most people don’t see them as out of time.
Great game very WTF ending tho’.
