Thanks to Miguel for telling me about this:
Its the music of John Williams (from his most well-known soundtracks) performed a cappella using lines – and concepts – from the Star Wars movies. Brilliant as this would be in just audio form, the video above seals it up with a similar trick to the “Thriller” video from last week: video cameras on each of the singing parts of the song – which also happen to be one guy.
Absolutely terrific. And the Jurassic Park theme is especially well done. Hope this gets you in the mood for another all-a cappella extravaganza on Coverville this week.
This was a blast. An end-to-end brothers in arms show would be great. What about an end to end Dire Straits Dire Straits show?
Fantastic! Thanks for this Brian and for playing that "Why Worry" cover. I absolutely loved that "Romeo and Juliet" cover too…maybe, like Private Dancer, it just works a little better with a switched gender. Amazing lyrics. I'll certainly be telling Coles Whalen how fantastic this was too.
An all Brothers In Arms cover story would indeed be great. It's a fantastic album completely spoiled by being too damned quiet IMO, even the remastered version.
Indeed a delight to find this show! You could play 24 hours of covers for all of MK's work, there is so much–from serious orchestral covers to country roots. Great range.
