I almost screamed out loud on the street when you said "Greensleeves", Brian (was walking around the neighborhood). Maybe it's a US/Europe thing – that song was so popular here back then. (Or a generation thing, maybe. 🙂 )

I just heard this podcast. I have always heard of Stephin Merritt, always heard rave things about him, but I never got around to listening (one of the many soon-to-be-heard musicians for me). This is the main reason I listen to this podcast, I heard something fresh today. When I heard Born On A Train and Papa Was A Rodeo, I was convinced, this is something for me. I am even interested in that group Two Handed Engine, they have that sound I like. Thanks for a great podshow, Brian.

I'm always thrilled when I get a musically challenged that you don't. Immediately when I heard it, I thought – Love is Blue; I remember the Paul Mauriat instrumental, but I'm older than you. Greensleeves is also the tune for What Chiild Is This, if that helps.

To get the fullest Magnetic Fields experience for a new fan start with the 3-disk set "69 Love Songs" it's FULL of great songs and every song is different from the last. It also contains several of the songs from this pod cast. I can't recommend it highly enough.
