Results of last week’s battle:
Something a little more uplifting for today’s competition, we’re bringing you two versions of Crowded House’s 1987 breakthrough hit “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. First up is a live version by Howie Day (Amazon link), followed by a much different take by Ausie singer/songwriter Sarah Blasko (Amazon link).
Which version lets the world come in?

Awesome!!! Although on a related note, it doesn't seem to be appearing in my iTunes feed… so I downloaded it. Anyone else having this problem?
Yes, my feed did not have this episode either.
I found it on Itunes but it took a day or two.
I voted for Sarah Blasko.
Brian, I know that you have previously said that you look for covers that "add something new" to the original and I really didn' t feel that Howie Day's cover was all that much different from the original…….. Oh well just IMHO.
I love the original and I love your show.
Thanks Brian.
D!
How about Fergie's version?
That's not a serious vote, btw. 😉
Of the two, Blasko for me. The Sixpence None the Richer is also a good version.
Brian, I enjoy listening to your podcast.
I voted for the Howie Day version, it was so good that I downloaded it from Amazon. I also do love the Sixpence None the Richer version though.
I agree with Dez! Howie's version is fine, but it might as well have been the original.
Wow – I was off on vacation and just heard this. I've listened to Coverville for a little over two years now, and (unfortunately) this is the first time I've contacted you.
This is possibly my favorite song of all time, and I really liked the Howie Day version, until I heard the Sarah Blasko version. Blew me away. I'll be looking for that Finn cover compilation now.
Thanks!
I don't realize how I got so behind, this showed as being from June – but I was surprised you didn't play the Sixpense None the Richer version!
