Wow, that Ben E. King version blew major chunks! … at least for me. Hollies FTW!

By the way, the Hollies version appeared on their 1975 album Another Night; it wasn't recorded especially for a Springsteen tribute as was mentioned during the podcast.
Ben E. King was the wrong guy to cover Asbury Park, IMHO of course. Hollies have this one for certain.
I agree with the previous comments. Ben E. King's version was a downer. It didn't have the verve of 4th of July at all. It made me wish they had eben played in the other order so that at least I would have the Hollies to walk away with, because the King version was downright depressing.
