I had to wait until I found some wireless service in the Corpus Christi airport to post this show from last night. Coverville is now ASCAP legal! Details in the ‘cast. Some covers by the Young Fresh Fellows, Kevin Rowland, Save Ferris, Concrete Blonde and the Cure, as well as a special tribute to Doug Bennett of Doug and the Slugs.

Hi,
I love your stuff and you’ve inspired me to get legal on my own podcast. Could you email me with the contact at ASCAP?
Thanks,
James
Hey, great show!
I reviewed it at podcastreviews.net (suggested by Scott Brenner).
Thanks!

Are you sure that the ACAP license covers what you are doing? I hope it does because I really enjoy listening to your show. But my reading of the ASCAP license (at least the The ASCAP Experimental License Agreement for Internet Sites & Services – Release 4.0 , which I assume you are using) means that you are covered for playing the works but not covered for uploading a copy of the works onto your server. It sounds picky, not a suprise being that RIAA holds the rights for that part of it. It sounds to me like the act of making a digital copy from the original recording and then transfering that digital copy is a separate license abtainable through Harry Fox Agency, RIAA, or the recording company. I really hope I am wrong on this one.
