absolutely LOVE the countdown .. I was happy to vote and glad to see many of my choices made it to the top of list. Oustanding year! I’ll be listening into 2006!
What a great countdown. I hope the countdown is continued in future years as well.
The songs I voted for came 2nd, 4th, 10th, 12th and one didn’t make it. Whilst I didn’t vote for number one, if I had of listened to Hurt prior to voting, I certainly would have voted for that ahead of One.
Thankfully ITunes has launched recently in Australia, so I went and purchased the Johnny Cash tracks that appeared in the countdown, as well as Wonderwall and Comfortably Numb (Scissor Sisters).
There is nothing like waking up New Year’s Day and being able to listen to the end of the countdown.
Happy New Year 2006.
Thanks
Aaron
Happy New Year, Aaron! And thanks for listening!
Happy New Year, Brian!
Great countdown! As the songs got closer to #1 I liked them more & more. #s 1,2, & 13 were even ones I voted for (and my nom was fore #13, Straight Outta Compton).
Sadly, Uncle Kracker’s Time After Time didn’t make it, but then again, not everyone has the same love of Uncle Kracker that I do… My husband doesn’t & he doesn’t understand my love of the Detroit White Trash music.(Kracker, Kid Rock & Eminem)
🙂
All the best for 2006 everyone!
Now I must go drink champagne!!

Hey Brian,
Can’t believe this is my first Coverville listen. Just like I heard/imagined-quality show. Good picks/production. Look forward to much more CVille listening in ’06-keep up the good work!
Great shows, Brian! My nominee and a few of my votes didn’t even make it in. Oh well. So, count this as an official request for you to play Angelique Kidjo’s cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child” sometime.
Happy New Year to everyone!
