It’s nomination time again!
What are the best cover songs ever released?
Submit your nominees for this year’s Coverville Countdown shows. I’ll post the full list of nominees on or after December 12th, and open the list for voting. On December 21st, we’ll begin counting down your top 40 favorite covers, leading up to the final show on December 30th! (All dates subject to change. You know me.)
I don’t have the technology to strip out non-independent artists this year, but I do encourage you to nominate and vote for your favorite independent and smaller-label artists! Continuing with the trend from last year, I won’t be automatically including last year’s top 40 tracks, so don’t assume that your favorites have already been nominated.
Also continuing the format from last year, you can nominate as many songs as you like, but I ask that you limit yourself to a maximum of five, please.
And again we’ll be having a giveaway as part of the Coverville Song Scramble competition. This year, it will be a brand-new iPod Touch! More details as we get closer to the middle of December. Prize generously supplied by Tom at the Midi Podcast!

Looking forward to it!
Thanks, Brian. Isaac Hayes Coverville next August? (b. Aug 20, d. Aug 10)
Nice show. That Deftones cover was a pleasant surprise – I expected it to be noisier. They're a pretty thrashy band at times, but they're also a surprisingly eclectic and curious band.
"She Said She Said" was all right, but I still prefer the Matthew Sweet version.
You gotta do an Isaac Hayes Coverville before next August, Ibbott. The man deserves a tribute. I've been playing a ton of Isaac Hayes since he passed away. (And I know you can't play the eighteen-minute version of "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," but I was still glad to hear you play one of his excellent covers.)
