It’s nomination time again!
What are the best cover songs ever released?
Submit your nominees for this year’s Coverville Countdown shows. I’ll post the full list of nominees on or after December 15th, and open the list for voting. On December 22nd, we’ll begin counting down your top 40 favorite covers, leading up to the final show on December 30th! (All dates subject to change. You know me.)
I don’t have the technology to strip out non-independent artists this year, but I do encourage you to nominate and vote for your favorite independent and smaller-label artists! And, like the last couple years, I won’t be automatically including last year’s top 40 tracks, so don’t assume that your favorites have already been nominated.
Also continuing the format from last year, you can nominate as many songs as you like, but I ask that you limit yourself to a maximum of five, please.
And again we’ll be having a giveaway as part of the Coverville Song Scramble competition. More details as we get closer to the middle of December!
Hi Brian
I see from the latest podcast that the hall of fame songs won’t be included, so it’s probably worth mentioning here that people should not nominate those songs (like i did…but i’ll treat that as a spoiled ballot paper and pick another!).
I agree that it won’t be the same without Baby got Back or Common People but there will be no Buckley…so every cloud and all that!
Baby Got Back was the song that brought me to Coverville and happens to be the best cover I have still ever heard, so i’ll always be thankful to Jonathan Coulton.
Wayne
True that.
I didn’t get to nominate but the voting was hard enough –all the songs that I know deserved five points. I wanted to look for some of the songs but apparently after voting there’s no chance of loading the list again. Any chance of getting the list posted?
Thanks, Ana
