It’s no secret that I am a big fan of the Not Lame label out of Fort Collins. They were the first label I contacted to get permission to play tracks on Coverville, and it led to the birth of the Not Lame Podcast.

It’s also no secret that I’m a huge Jellyfish fan. Episode 1 of Coverville featured Jellyfish (they were the first full track I played on the show), and I continuously sing the praises of Jason Falkner, who was with the band for that first album (and then went on to do “Both Sides Now”, which I regard as one of my favorite cover songs of all time).

And you’ve heard me play Bleu on the show before, as both an Uncovered Gem of the Week, and as a covering artist himself.

Bleu is getting set to release an album under the name “L.E.O.”, entitled “Alpacas Orgling” (I swear that that’s a secret anagram, but I just can’t figure it out), and the album features Andy Sturmer from Jellyfish, Mike Viola of the Candy Butchers, and a ton of other artists. Not Lame has a deal where you can get a special deal on the album, as well as a ton of freebies, including a discounted copy of the excellent E.L.O./Jeff Lynne/Traveling Wilburys tribute CD called “Lynne Me Your Ears”.

I don’t often use my blog to “push product”, unless I think it’s something that Coverville fans would appreciate. (Not Lame didn’t ask me to advertise this, nor do they even know I’m doing this).
