Appropriately enough, Lyrics Undercover 134 (postponed from last week) has been posted, and it’s Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back In Town”. It’s on the Premium Feed, so those of you who haven’t yet taken the plunge and subscribed won’t learn the story of Dino’s Bar and Grill, and who the “boys” reportedly are (hint: it’s not the band).
And I lead this post off with “appropriately”, because the cold that I’ve been fighting since the beginning of the year blossomed into a sinus infection last week, keeping me and my voice away from the microphone for last week’s shows. I’m feeling like a million bucks today, though, and will be back and posting a new Coverville tonight as well!
"City Hall" originally by Dolly Parton? According to whom?
It was an error including that song in this show. A listener had requested it after hearing Vienna perform it in concert. She swears she heard Vienna say that it was a cover of a Dolly Parton song, but I think it's more likely that it was inspired by Dolly Parton. In any case, I corrected the shownotes on the updated WordPress site the day after the show was posted.
Loved the REO cover! That same album of theirs has a song called "Lucky For You" that I always thought would be a good song for a country act to cover.
