Brian, congrats on passing the #200 mark. Having been a fan of TMBG since day one, I was delighted to hear the ORIGINAL “Sun Is A Mass…” recording. Thanks for keeping on keeping on.
Shouldn’t this be show #201? Or are you embracing Voodoo Econimics?
Very funny – I was JUST thinking of the Ednaswap version of Torn a few days ago. Excellent song. Pity the band went nowhere.
Will the next originalville be called: Originalville Strikes Back?
Or maybe: Originalville Goes West.
Brian, after the last prank, I’ve found myself very suspicious of this episode.
I’m getting over it, though.
I really enjoyed the “Original Sun,” all the more so because it was so obviously old vinyl. Cracking science, Gromit!
It’s fun to listen to the originals and try to figure out why they weren’t as successful as the covers.
There is one very good reason why Billy Prestons original “You Are So Beautiful” didn’t make it any bigger. That VERY annoying keyboard solo! What was that producer thinking?
Ken
Loved this show! Albert Hammond really “sold it” there, didn’t he, when the horns come in!
Loved the “Why does the Sun Shine.” Went and found all the mp3s from the original albums. Too bad Mariah Carey hasn’t covered one so you could play it.
