There’s a “My Trivia Podcast” Musically Challenged in this show! Make sure to check out Will, Amanda and Olivia’s podcast, My Trivia Podcast!
Wow, how’s THAT for timing? I have had a note to myself here for the past week to jot you a note to point out Weird Al’s recording of Bohemian Rhapsody in the wake of the Queen Cover Story. And, hey, I just used your new search function to find out you haven’t done a single Weird Al song yet, and all of his polkas would qualify. (Try the “Hot Rock Polka” for all the Rolling Stone covers. It’s on the UHF soundtrack.)
And now — now you’ve gone and done it. You don’t need me anymore. Keep up the good work, Brian!
I don’t think the Wierd Al “Bohemian Rhapsody” can be mentioned without brining up Lost Rhapsody.
When I requested RBF, I never thought I’d actually hear my email in the podcast. And yeah, my name is Rosscott but it’s normally just Ross. As for the email, I feel it was a valid argument.
Thanks again!
I’m listening to it right now — excellent song request, Ross. It’s a really cool version of that song.
Now, Weird Al in just another minute or two. Whoo-hoo!
Interesting “Musically Challenged” this time, some tough ones. Here’s another bit of trivia associated with Boz Scaggs: His backing band for the “Silk Degrees” album which contained “Lido Shuffle” went on to become MOR monsters Toto. Toto leader David Paich co-wrote many of the songs on “Silk Degrees” as well.
The ‘Musically Challenged’ was great, but Brian you let me down. Usually I don’t get them if you don’t, but I was yelling Tom Cochrane and Red Rider at my computer – a little akward since I was at work…
Also, GW doing Imagine was classic.
And here I was just about to shoot off an email to Brian asking for RBF’s Hungry Like the Wolf. Good stuff….
Wow. Nice selection of music, Brian. I liked hearing the “minor” version of “Imagine” as well as the version with GWB’s comments.
I also liked that version of Duran Duran, and I really, really, really liked that Weird Al song.
BTW, does anybody know if a Parody-type podcast exists?
Wow…I missed this show in iTunes and just listened this morning. That Emotive song sounded like Chris Daughtry. If he put out an album like that, I’d buy it in a sec. Poor guy. He was probably the best performer who never won AI.
Ok, you broke me with this one. I have always liked “Imagine”, Queen and Duran Duran.
To have “The Party Party” put together that version was amazing.
Thanks for another great one!
