Wow … what a catchy sound on that Garbage cover! I loved this show. Loved About a Boy too, and I’m looking forward to About a Girl! I’m trying to predict what will be included …
Personally I love the Paul Young cover of “Love will tear us apart”. Not so miserable as the original!
Bernard Fowler – the singer on that Nickelbag track – is also the latest singer in Tackhead, an industrial noise funk outfit featuring Doug Wimbish (also part of Living Colour), Skip McDonald and Keith LeBlanc. Those three guys were the driving force of the music on Sugar Hill Records – they basically invented the music part of early rap/hip hop and played the music on Rapper’s Delight, The Message, White Lines, etc.
Musical connections abound!
Oh, and Stevie Salas used to have a band called Stevie Salas’ Colorcode that put a few things around 1990.
