Wow. That was fantastic. Great job getting someone like Pat Boone on the show, and great interview! 🙂
Great, great show and interview with Pat Boone. Tremendously interesting. Loved it.
I was pleasantly surprised by a couple of his comments regarding his Little Richard and Fats Domino covers from early in his career. I’ve had this debate with my family and I think his position reinforced mine, had he not covered those artists, their music quite possibly wouldn’t have achieved the iconic status it enjoys today. “Race” music wasn’t getting airtime in any significant way at the time. And as good as it was, it would never have with black artists. Everybody benefited from his doing those covers.
Who’d a thunk it ! Pat Boone is one cool dude ! This is what I love about Brian. He takes all our nasty little preconceptions and our ‘ no I never listen to that genre’ and he shoots ’em down. Onya Brian !
