Great show. I've been a big TFF fan for years. Is there any more definably 80's movie moment than the end of Real Genius? Ok, maybe the end of Breakfast Club? Maybe that's a debate I shouldn't open up.

Great show. The sequence in Donnie Darko where Head Over Heels is playing is great – tracking shot through the school in slo mo etc.

They have to put that in Rock Band – I'd love to do that one on drums 🙂
I've been waiting for a TFF cover story for quite awhile. I searched for suitable covers a couple of years ago and came up virtually empty, so I'm thrilled you've been able to find enough new material to this. Now, we just need someone to do a great cover of "Mother's Talk."
Yep.
"Head over Heels" was featured prominently in the 2001 film Donnie Darko. According to director Richard Kelly on the DVD commentary, the scene in which the song was used was written and choreographed specifically with the song in mind.

Real Genius was a great movie BTW and I think the young Val Kilmer was perfect for his role as the off kilter, face man with brains trying to help the young prodigy whose name I forget but who looks like he could be a male version of a young Sara Jessica Parker (Square Pegs era).
Awesome cover story of TFF, Brian! As a long time fan of the boys fom Bath, I appreciated the inclusion of "Sea Song" as well as the electronic version of "Pale Shelter" by Codename Sugar and NFG's version of "Head Over Heels" which I heard them do in concert two years ago. Keep it up, freaky bro'!
More than likely, the Head Over Heels movie use would be from Donnie Darko, right as he hops out of the back of the bus. Great use of the song and fun cover by NFG. Great show, man.
When I saw this was a Tears for Fears cover story, I thought for sure you'd play The Bad Plus' version of Everybody Wants To Rule The World (which I requested not too long ago). I enjoyed the selections you did include, though. Tears for Fears seems pretty well-suited for a cappella arrangements.
According to Wikipedia, Everybody Wants To Rule The World was used in Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion and in the end credits for Real Genius.
Great show. To be completely honest, I'd given up on you playing the request I made a long time ago (Jamison Parker), but then when I'm least expecting it, BAM! Thanks!
I concur!!
