obviously, you rule. however, Team Reverb will probably crush you at Our Quiz.
You may have made a mistake playing so many of the covers by Tom Jones. He can overshadow anyone with his raw, chest-hairry, pants-straining, 70s-riffic, over the top masculinity. The other songs were really great too but it's hard to compete with the man himself.
He's 100% testosterone Dinah! The thing is, he's tried to keep himself fresh by associating with lots of cool bands, hence the duets album he did etc, so the fact is there are a LOT of covers he has done himself. It's hard to ignore them. There's an opportunity though to redress the balance in the extra show for Citizens.
I LOVED that Sexbomb cover and can echo Brian's comments about that Brad Roberts live album – it's fantastic – but don't let the kids listen!
I LOVE that Reload album; recommended!
Fun listen! I love all of the songs with horns. A possible future theme for a show would be "covers with horn sections of originals with no horns." Kind of rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?
