No “Hot and Cold” by Katy Perry & Elmo? I’m not sure if it actually aired; some people thought her outfit was scandalously low-cut. (It wasn’t, but some people always choose to be offended by something.)
This is one of my all-time favorite Coverville’s!
all right everybody it’s a muppet coverstory!!! yaaaaaaayyyy [flail arms now to get the full effect] yyyyy!!!!!!!!!
That Ray Charles cover of Bein’ Green is my favorite Muppet cover of all time. Of all time!
I loved this episode. Although, I think I could be happy just listening to different covers of “Mah Na Mah Na” for an entire show.
So glad you decided to do a Muppets show! One you missed…consider it a request for a future request show…”I’m Going to Go Back There Someday” by Faye Davis. This was Gonzo’s song from “The Muppet Movie.”
Hey, Brian – The Coverville on iTunes is reposted, but both are 49 minutes. The blog says it’s 63 minutes. I’m so confused, which not that unusual…
When I first heard it was a Muppet Cover Story, I was hoping/expecting some of the more infamous versions of the Muppets performing covers on the Muppet Show, not just covers of Muppet songs.
In fact, I did a whole blog post inspired by this episode to showcase the depth of talent they had:

Also, they have to be a lot more Muppet songs capable of playing covers of without dipping into Sesame Street. That’s including at least 3 Muppet Movies, 3 TV Shows (Muppet Show, Muppet Babies, & Muppets Tonight), and you can even throw in Fraggle Rock.
While I loved the show and the tracks used, I just kinda felt let down on this particular episode with so much depth and talent they have.
Hi Marc,
Thanks for your comment – and excellent post.
The problem I ran into with the covers that the Muppets recorded, is that they never officially released any of them. I can get away with slipping a YouTube-recorded audio track into the show every once in a while, but since I have to report everything to BMI, SESAC & ASCAP every quarter, I think it would raise a red flag if more of the music I was playing on the show couldn’t get attributed (and the appropriate songwriters getting paid) for licensed recordings. I checked out some of the YouTube links from your post (remembering them fondly), and I _wish_ they would have released those commercially. Maybe they still will at some point.
Looking forward to the movie next month!
